<![CDATA[New Publication Announcement Service]]>Dear Library Users,
We are aiming at developing fully qualified book collection which will respond to the scientific research needs and equitable distribution of books according to their subjects. To this end, for receiving "New Publications Announcement Service" a new database called OASIS owned by the Coutts Company in England has been used since January 2010. OASIS keeps approximately 8.000.000 books in its database archive. This database sends the bibliographical information of newly published books to the e-mail addresses of users who was defined to the system. Academic staff can suggest newly published books which they wish to be included in the library collection.
Information of 199 academic staff (approximately 10 % of total academic staff) who informed us that they wanted to use the new service by forwarding subject areas of their interest were added into OASIS, username and passwords were also assigned to them. Our goal is to provide more academic staff to take advantage of "New Publications Announcement Service" .
We kindly ask our acedemic staff to forward their request and the subject areas that they are interested in to our library as soon as possible.
Below is an example for the e-mail format, which will be sent periodically to the users who are included in the OASIS system:
Your 14 electronic slips are ready for your review.
Click on http://www.couttsoasis.com and login to process them.

After accessing the database, information related to the books that are requested to be ordered and to be selected with "Mark For Selection" line will reach our library and the librarian in charge.

Thank you for your contribution to the development process of our library collection.

Respectfully yours,

Library and Documentation Directorate
